Hot House Gardening – Weaver Prayer Letter

A hot house provides perfect growing conditions for young plants until they can thrive on their own. CPI provides training and mentoring for church planters until their young churches can thrive on their own. Pastor Dong Kadyat is one of these church planters. He is starting a church near Mangaldan. After attending Church Planting Institute training, he invited me to preach at his young church. It is exciting to see 20-30 believers, all eager to hear God’s Word, and worship together. They are encouraged to know that we will train them, and help establish this church.

All of our training locations were “hot houses” this April, as the heat index soared over 108 degrees! Even so, church planters, pastors and youth leaders braved the heat for all day training sessions, out of love for Christ, and God’s Word.

One of our favorite outreach activities is Bible Exposition. We invite anyone from the community to come and ask any question they would like about the Bible. We never know what questions they will ask. This year’s Bible Exposition was held in San Jacinto, where the church is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Summer camp was also held this month. God blessed us with the free use of a college campus, which was a special blessing; our church is experiencing a water shortage, and could not host over 130 campers! Half of our campers this year were invited from new church plants we are trying to help.

Train, mentor, help and encourage. This is how we provide the conditions that allow new churches to grow and prosper. God is blessing these efforts. New churches continue to develop, and their workers are trained in evangelism, discipleship and church leadership. Thank you for praying for these churches, and for supporting us financially, so we can help these faithful servants grow strong churches for Christ.

Praise:

  • We are seeing eagerness among the churches we help, to train and to serve the Lord.
  • Our own workers are willing to share their experience and resources with other new churches, which helps them grow.
  • God provided a free venue for summer camp for over 130 teens.

Pray:

  • Pray that unity we are seeing between churches will multiply their fruitfulness together.
  • Pray that we will be able to provide good growing conditions for each of these new churches.
  • Pray that God will provide our needed monthly support, as well as a needed ministry van.
