When the monsoon rains come as they should, Filipino farmers can plant for a second harvest of rice. We have been experiencing our own monsoon of blessings this summer, as we traveled to see supporters through thirteen states.
On our way, we received word from our Philippine ministry team of an evangelistic outreach among teens in Guilig, Macayog and Malasiqui. Many of these teens are from the 240 families we teach in the family strengthening program. We are praying for a harvest among these young people.
Then, a new supporter began their regular support of our work. Thank you for faithfully praying for this! Another supporter gave a significant gift for the ministry van we need to bring church planters to their ministry areas. We now have close to $3,000 towards this need.
After our summer trip, we resumed the Evangelistic Filipino Bible study God gave us here in Birmingham in June. One of the women in the group wanted to help our ministry financially. She started a “Baker for the Weavers” fund, baking and selling Filipino breakfast rolls, called “pandesal”, to raise funds for the ministry in the Philippines. We pray that the husbands will attend this local Bible study and become spiritual leaders in their homes. Preparation for teaching the Gospel of John for this Bible study also helps me prepare for teaching John in CPI (Church Planting Institute) when I go to the Philippines in September.

Just as farmers pray for the rains to come so they can plant for a second harvest, we are encouraged by answers to your prayers and financial support for us. We are working to see another harvest, as the churches we have helped are trained to multiply.
Servants together,
David & Joy Weaver & Family
