His Family
Jesus came to expand God’s family, “for as many as received him he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12) We are seeing God’s family expanding among the Filipinos we serve. This year we have had unique opportunities to bring the gospel to the Filipino people, from a Will Graham evangelistic crusade in our ministry area, to government sponsored Bible studies among the poorest of the poor, to church planter training among new groups of churches, to a Filipino Bible study in Birmingham. Through each of these opportunities, God is growing his family through faith in Christ.
Our Family
Whenever our children left home for school or outings, we told them, “remember whose child you are”. They continue to represent well both God’s family and ours. Melody, the favorite coffee barista of many, has been on mission trips to Mongolia and England this year. She also “lady sits” two elderly ladies. Rachel volunteers for a missionary member care organization, and works with autistic children. Rebekah, Gunner and Shiloh moved back to Alabama this year, with Gunner in training for law enforcement. Rebekah works from home as a web copywriter. Daniel and Miriam send us videos of tubing in the snow from Ohio, where Miriam is an ER nurse and Daniel works remotely with a Birmingham website design company. Ruth is in her third year at Columbia International University, majoring in psychology, Bible and great friendships. Paul, a high school junior, leads a weekly Bible study with classmates, sings with Birmingham Boys Choir, and plays basketball.
Your Family
Your family is an important part of our lives as well! With your prayers and support we have been able to keep bringing the good news of Christ to the Filipinos God has entrusted to our care.
