Looks Like a Prayer List to Me!

When we look at our ministry “To Do” list, we realize it looks a lot like what we would love for you to be praying for us. Check out this list to see how you can pray, and to get a glimpse of missionary life during a pandemic. Each of these challenges is also a great new opportunity for ministry.

Relief for the Estipona, Tarlac church

PRAISE:  Every item we can check off our “To Do” list is a reason to praise the Lord!

  • Send relief funds to the Philippines to help families still in lockdown and unable to work.
  • Move Ruth to South Carolina for her senior year at Columbia International University. Get Paul started in his senior year of high school.
  • Prepare for weekly Bible study with local Filipinos and spouses via Zoom (including Filipinos from other parts of the country who join online!)
  • Correspond with prayer partners and supporters. Send a special thanks to those who have helped us through this COVID-19 summer!
  • Cancel two fraudulent checking accounts and a cell phone contract opened in our name, and contact credit agencies to initiate a fraud alert.

PRAYER:  For each of these items, we still need prayer for the help of God’s Spirit to make them effective.

  • Work out how to preach in Philippine churches on Facebook, how to train church planters on Zoom, and how to record Tagalog training sessions on YouTube.
  • Do sermon preparation for September 6 Mangaldan church anniversary. Pre-record sermon on Thursday, join service live on Saturday night, which is Sunday morning in the Philippines.
  • Study for, and teach a weekly Bible study each Friday night on Zoom. Email study notes to each of the participants.
  • Study for Church Planting Institute training sessions for October. Prepare a teaching plan. Online training will be at 7 locations in 4 provinces in the Philippines at the same time.
  • Check that Filipino church planters and pastors will be able to access CPI training sessions on a phone, tablet, computer, or projected session at a church gathering of six people or less.
  • Gather and ship used clothing to Filipinos who are still without work due to COVID-19.
  • Find a creative way to help Joy’s sister, Faith, as her pancreatic cancer advances with more pain.
  • Pray for all of those who faithfully pray for us. Pray for God’s blessing and provision for each of our faithful financial supporters.
