Total Contrast

David’s May flight to and from the Philippines for church planter training was a total contrast to what is happening in our ministry. The flight out of Atlanta was delayed as attendants begged for volunteers to delay flying to the next day, due to an overbooked flight.

Baguio Church Planting Retreat

That is the exact opposite of what we are seeing in our ministry. We did not lack volunteers for the Baguio church planter training retreat in May. 14 churches were represented in this training.

Baguio Church Planting Retreat

Youth volunteered in June to be trained to lead evangelistic outreach with children in multiple locations around Mangaldan. Young adults are ready to join a new class of church planting training this month. These workers have already begun their on-the-job training with an evangelistic outreach scheduled for July 24-25 with the Aeta tribal group.

On the return flight in June, a passenger had a heart attack. After 30 minutes of CPR and three defibrillations, he was revived. The flight was diverted to a nearby city, where he was taken to a hospital, and then we continued on our way.

Child Evangelism Outreach

There has been no need to divert our flight plan in ministry. Our hearts keep beating for church multiplication through the training of church planters. In the last three months, workers have received doctrinal instruction (Doctrine of Christ, Doctrine of Salvation). They have received practical training (Evangelism, Discipleship). A key component of their training is on-the-job experience (leading training sessions, planning evangelistic outreaches, leading children’s Bible studies).

New Generation At Church Planter Training

Our family crisis was unlike that man on the plane who was taken to an unfamiliar hospital in a city far from family and friends. On June 26, Joy’s mother, Pauline Sutton, fell. She had a compound fracture of her femur, which required emergency surgery, and now, a lengthy rehabilitation. We are grateful that we, and other family and friends, can support her through this process.

We are grateful that God directs the flight of our ministry, and that folks in God’s family, like you, help and encourage us in our work. Thank you for your support, and for your faithful prayers for our ministry.

Servants together,
David & Joy
