Daniel and Miriam Weaver – September 22, 2018
Message from Daniel & Miriam’s wedding:
“Our favorite way of adding children to our family these days is through marriage!”
“What is the masterpiece God is signing with love today? It is a self-portrait of Jesus Christ Himself. In this very marriage between Daniel and Miriam, Christ is painting himself as the epitome of a man who steals away the heart of his bride through tender understanding and devoted self-sacrifice. ‘God proved his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.’ …The love Jesus has for you is real; He has the scars to prove it. He is tenderly winning your heart. As you allow your heart to soften and respond to His steadfast love, you will become part of his bride that He calls the Church.”
“Each of us who have received Christ, stand in His masterpiece as His Bride – responsive, devoted, and ready to follow Him to the ends of the earth and to the end of time. The passion of our lives is to bring Him joy, and to help Him to succeed in all of His plans.”
To the ends of the earth
After the wedding, we turned a corner to prepare for our October/November CPI training trip to the Philippines. Our passion is to see the faith and faithfulness of the first generation of believers be passed down to succeeding generations. The training I conduct will be a mix of generations, as I hold youth leadership seminars, training for church leaders, and a church planting workshop for a new batch of church planters. I will also have the privilege of performing another wedding, as the daughter of one of Joy’s disciples is married to a worker from one of our other churches. Then, I will speak at the church anniversary of the Malasiqui church. This is the church we all are praying God will provide land for in the center of the town of Malasiqui.
To the end of time
As we watch the recovery efforts from hurricanes in Florida and the Carolinas, our hearts go out to Filipinos struggling to recover from a typhoon three times the size of Florence and Michael. Our Filipino churches have none of the resources or insurance or volunteer help that we see in the U.S. In spite of this, they continue to serve Christ and to help their neighbors to recover, with the joy of the Lord as their strength.
These believers, faithful to the end, are a great encouragement to us. We serve Christ by serving them. We thank God for each of you who are faithfully committed to serving Christ by serving us. Your prayers and financial support encourage us as well. Together, we will keep training Filipino believers to multiply.
Servants together,
David and Joy Weaver and family
