As we abide in Christ, serving in dependence on His Spirit, He causes our efforts to bear fruit. Jesus told us to “remember the poor” as part of our gospel outreach. God has graciously provided resources for us to provide food for children most affected by 18 months of almost continuous pandemic lockdown.

This practical love has borne spiritual fruit, as a number of mothers and young people have trusted Christ as Savior.
Government officials, encouraged by our efforts, asked our area pastors to pray for the installation of the new police chief. He then asked us to provide Bible studies for his officers. A local military detachment helps us with relief efforts. Now they are also studying the Bible together.

Abiding Love: We thank God that our own children are also striving to abide in Christ. June 12th, Ruth “tied the Knott” with Nathanael Knott in a Christ-centered ceremony at the very church where we were married 35 years ago. They now live in Columbia, SC as they seek God’s will for their next steps in serving Christ.

Our role with our children has now changed from direct care to coaching. Paul, our youngest, arrived at Columbia International University August 12. For Paul, abiding in Christ includes studying Business and Bible.

We continue to have a similar mentoring and training role with the church planters and pastors we train online. Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support. Your partnership is God’s way of helping us all bear fruit in the Philippines for Christ.
Servants together,
David and Joy Weaver
Sad News: We just heard that three people from the Malasiqui church have died from covid-19. Due to overcrowded hospitals, many patients remain at home, exposing more family.
Praise:
Thank God for providing relief food for struggling Filipinos.

Praise God for officials promoting Bible studies for police and military.
Praise God for Ruth and Nathanael’s new life together.
Pray:
Pray for Filipinos to seek Christ in their deep distress during this pandemic.
Pray for fruitful Bible studies among police and military.
Pray for Ruth and Nathanael’s new marriage, and Paul’s first year at Columbia International University.
Pray for the Malasiqui church as three of their people have died from COVID-19.
