“Good tidings of great joy” was the message the angels announced to certain shepherds keeping watch over flocks by night. It was a good night to be alert and available to welcome the birth of our Savior.
Christmas Eve is a family time of feasting for the Filipino people, as they celebrate the arrival of Jesus in Bethlehem. God has graciously provided funds so we can share some of the ingredients for this feast with Filipino pastors, church planters and church workers. This is our way of sharing the love of Christ with these partners in the gospel who serve so faithfully.
As we help them to celebrate Christ’s coming, we also anticipate the arrival of all 6 of our own children and their families for Christmas with us this year. As Filipino families feast at their Christmas Eve Noche Buena, with the time difference,we will be feasting at the same time with our own family on Christmas Day. Then, before the end of the year, we will meet online with church planters from more than 20 locations for our annual praise and prayer service around the Lord’s Table. What a “good night” that will be!
We thank God for the generous gifts that allowed us to provide a “Good Night” Noche Buena meal for those who serve with us. Your faithful prayers and financial support have done even more. Through these workers, you are helping bring the feast of Christ himself to the Filipino people. When they believe on Him, they will never again hunger or thirst.
May you be filled and satisfied with Christ this Christmas. We love you all!
