What Is New?

“So, what is new in your world?” was a common greeting, as we met up with friends, family and supporters on our many travels to churches this spring. We often answered by scrolling through the many pictures on our phones.

A New Baby

We would like you to meet Deborah Kay Weaver, born to our son, Daniel and Miriam and big sister, Esther on April 19 (8lbs, 7.5oz., 20.5”).

A New Church Building

As soon as the roof was on, the Malasiqui church had its first church service in their new (still under construction) church building in May.

A New Graduate

Paul graduated from Columbia International University in May (where five of us Weavers have graduated). Paul began a new job with a Birmingham accounting firm in June.

A New Camp!

In June, Christ Connection Camp held its first camp in the new facilities, still being built.

As we scrolled through pictures of family and ministry to catch folks up on our lives, some things haven’t changed.

We still wake up early on Tuesdays to teach church planters in the Philippines. Cancer treatment for Joy’s Mom continues to keep the cancer from spreading, though a side effect is a lower blood count, requiring blood transfusions. My (David’s) Mom is still thriving in assisted living. Our Filipino Bible study continues with professionals and their families.

We are also grateful that your faithful prayer and support for us has not changed, prompting us to new gratitude and thanks to God for each of you!

PRAISE

  • Praise the Lord for helping us to get the roof on the Malasiqui church and camp facility before rainy season, so we could host our first camp there this month.
  • Praise the Lord for new family blessings, with the birth of Deborah Kay, Paul’s graduation and his new job.
  • Praise the Lord for keeping us safe on our many travels this spring, and for on-going church planter training and Bible study.
  • Praise the Lord that Mom Sutton’s cancer treatments and blood transfusions have sustained her, and kept her cancer from spreading.

PRAYER

  • Please pray with us for funds needed to complete the church and camp facility in Malasiqui. So far, God has provided “just in time” gifts to keep the crew working on the project. Pray His perfect provision will continue.
  • Pray for new life in Christ for those who study the Bible with us, for those who attended camp, and for those who are taught by the church planters we train.
  • Please pray that our six grandchildren will grow up to love God with all of their hearts, and to serve others with all of their lives. Please pray for our parents’ cancer and memory care.
