It is a simple gesture, a cup of tea, but this is no ordinary story. This tea cup is from our wedding Corelle “Forget Me Not” dishes that we brought to the Philippines 25 years ago. When we were returning to the states for our home assignment, we had no place to store the dishes. They were extra weight to bring back to the states,so we had to make a decision. Rather than sell them, Joy gave them to Leony, our coworker’s wife. Now, each time we return to train workers like these…

Leony serves us on our wedding dishes.
There is nothing that we give up for Christ’s sake and the gospel that He does not return to us multiplied, and uses to advance His kingdom.
This is half of the group we trained this time in Baguio. The other half already headed for home before we remembered to take the picture. I just finished two church services, and we will be traveling on to Leyte tomorrow, for another church planter training session.
Blessings, David
P.S. I, Joy was just about to send this post out, when I had some communication from David that needs your prayers. David and Pastor Diawa are headed to Manilla right now from Mangaldan. Not needing to go into long details, there are some complications concerning the plans for traveling to Leyte. Please pray for God to intervene and remove the “roadblocks”. Please pray that David will be able to speak to the right people that will help clear up the travel issues. We definitely know that God has some great plans for the training session coming up in Leyte. Thank you for praying!
