What encourages us to keep on keeping on in the work God has given us in the Philippines?
God’s Provision – God’s provision determines our direction. We know we are doing what God wants done, because He quickly provided ALL of the funds needed to build the evangelism camp dormitory. A video came in this morning from the camp construction site. A dozen workers were lined up passing buckets of cement up the scaffolding to pour concrete tie beams for the second floor. We pray that enough of the building will be finished so we can use it for camp in May.
God’s Promise – We do not work for Christ. We work with Christ. He promises to be with us to the very end. He will not stop until His Church is built. We want to serve with Him until He finishes His work. Christ also works with the disciples we are training. He helps them keep on keeping on, in spite of a spike in food and fuel prices due to the war in Iran. They will help us train camp counselors for camp in May.
God’s People – We serve with you as well. You pray and give for the Lord’s work, which encourages us to keep serving. You keep us going in practical ways, with gifts of gas, a new battery for our van, and meals for us, and for Joy’s parents (Joy’s mom is on her third type of cancer treatment.) The power of your prayers keeps us going as well. As I fly out next week to the Philippines, people will be praying every hour of the 24 hours of my flight.
Christ’s Coming – The spread of the gospel is reaching around the world and back to where it started. Global events seem to be converging. Could Christ return in our lifetime? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if He caught us in the act of serving Him when He comes? This thought energizes us to keep on keeping on, training another disciple and helping start another church. Until Christ comes again, we remain servants together with you, David & Joy
“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.” (Matthew 24:45-46)
Praise:
Praise the Lord, ALL of the funds needed to build the camp dormitory have been received!
Thank God for Filipino church planters serving faithfully, in spite of much higher gas and food prices due to the war in Iran.
Praise God for young workers ready to be trained as camp counselors.
Prayer:
Please pray that enough of the dormitory will be finished in time for camp in May.
Please pray for God’s grace and wisdom as I train church planters, and as they train camp counselors beginning April 23.
Please pray for Joy as she helps her mom and dad, as her mom battles cancer.
